My Pere/Saker

Thought I would keep a bit of a log about the Pere/Saker I have just purchased from Terry. Will post Pics lol and updates.

Got her home from Terry's Sat night got her settled and left her until Sunday.
Sunday took her out a bit after I had got back hunting with the Harris hawks. Even though she is a trained falcon I put her on the creance and let her fly to the lure just to get her used to me. Got her home tethered her then later got in the house for a few hours with me. Today I put on the telemetry and hood took her on the field in front of the house. unhooded her and let her take in the surrondings then let her stretch her wings she flew up and round got a bit of hieght then I took out the lure wow it was fun and she was great loved it. Hunting her Wednesday got some Phesis eyed up so cant wait.

lol who do you think I am David Nixon lol (He was a magician for those to young to remember well thats what Terry told me anyway) It was the first day Id had the camera off my neck since xmas it was awful. I will train Paul to use the camera Oh my god what have I said!

Took her out with Owlsfoot tonight after work had about an hour and quarter of light left when we got there. She wieghed in at 1lb 14. As we drove through the farmers gate a cock Phesi stoped at the barn then we pulled up and got out of the car and another cock phes got up and flew over the road. Me and Paul just started grining. We got the falcon and went in the direction the of the barn and two hen Phesis got up and I unhooded her and she went straight off the fist and chased it the phesi made for the woods which was nearby so it was an easy escape but the falcon was very keen. The falcon flew over the woods a bit then I called her to the lure. When I got her back on the fist and put the hood back on her she her tail and wings were wet through from the grass(was raining all day here) We walked a field from there towards another bit of cover and Paul popped another one out. I was a bit slow getting the hood off so the Phesi got a bit of a start but she followed hard and fast. They went over 2 1/2 fields but that also made it to cover. It was exciting stuff and great to watch and the falcon seemed very commited even though it was a hard chase.

A bit further on another four phesis got up but I did not unhood her as they were some distance away and lighting conditions were getting bad. flew her to the lure for a short time and fed her. Will get her out again tomorrow. Would have put some pics up but there blured very blured lol ( Paul was in charge of the camera) lol

Getting her used to the dogs she seems ok with them and dogs with her so will try em together soon.

Had a great evening and it was exciting and great to watch this falcon fly. Had good fun.

Yes defo without a doubt. Got some good places with phesis on it so it will be good to she how they get on.

had a good nite with bjj and fanny ive nicknamed bjj the hawk whisperer as the bird ****in loves him after chasin the longtail over two fields it came straight back to jo like a boomerang awesome pity the longtails flew in all the wrong directions tonite but thats huntin at least we seen some cant wait for her first kill that bird is a machine and its not goin to take long b4 she's devastatin the longtails round jo's thanks for tonite mate we always have a good time even without a kill :supz:

she is a good bird flys well to the lure had her out hunting missed a lot pheasant , crow , magpies just not taking anthing the peps that had her
flew her from fist to fist .
so i have spent a lot of time with her on the kite and in gale force winds so she can gain a bit of height and build her up .
had her going well was looking good for this season had her out hunting one day and she had a punch up with a wild peri and came back in a bit of a state .
thats her back to normal looking good and just getting her weight down a bit and ill fly her for a bit on young crows

Had mine out again today with Owlsfoot had one flight off the fist at a phes the pair went out of sight. the Phes just went up and up I thought when is this ****er going to start to drop she did good and was gaining, she didnt quit but needed to get a bit more hieght I think, anyway it made it to the woods which was a long way a way no problem getting her back. The dogs and her seem to be getting on well so will try her with the dogs soon. I intend stopping the dogs at cover letting her up then put them in see what gets up. Its exciting stuff going out tomorrow with her. Then flying her first on saturday then put her away and fly the harris hawks same Sunday.

Careful you dont knock her confidence, flying her off the fist at fit winter game mate. Not trying to teach you to suck eggs but even a fit Gos will get a good workout this time of year.:lol:

Alright Paul didnt take her out hunting today just flew her to the lure near the house got the Mrs to take some Pics aint looked at em yet but think there a bit blured put some up if ok will PM you later mate.

After a couple of days flying the faclon to the lure got her out tonight to hunt. I was driving to some nearby land I have when I saw a Cock phes in the middle of a field I stopped the Surf and took her out and let her off over the hedge and up went the Phes so did a few more that were hiding. The falcon made good ground and hit the phes as both birds went over the top of some conifer trees that surround a large property. I though it was as good as dead unfortunetly it must of got away dont know how because the trees blocked my view. As I ran across the field grinning she came flying back towards me It was exciting to watch her go, next time she'll knock one to the deck. Got a flight at a couple of Partrdge and called it a day.

She is fast H by time the Phes was getting lift to get over the tree's she had made up quite a lot ground and was on it. It was good to watch and I to think its only a matter of time myself.
