Texas Hawking Association 2006 meet

Well, we just had the 06' meet in Abilene and it went great. Everyone that wanted to catch game, got it. I managed to pull off 4 bunnies and 2-200 gram pack rats. We had lots of folks there from around the state and several from other states as well. We had two Golden eagles as well, but I didn't hear how they made out on Jack rabbits as it's not really interesting to me to see eagles fly. Anyway, here are a few photo's that I took at the meet while we where out hawking one day. The pics aren't two good as they are off of my Camcorder.

Hey Weasel,

Smoking really does cause death... sudden death! Whose passage RT is that? Did you like Brad Woods presentation? What did you win in the raffle? Do any gang hawking?

Blackbird, No I didn't...That rat was actually caught the day before by my bird. I left it on the scale at home and my roomates put it in my bed proped up on the pillow with a ciggy in it's mouth....Typical falconers huh....
The RT in the pics is flying around 38-39 ounces I beleive.

Hey Bird dog, That bird was Aaron's. I missed out on most of his presentation as I was helping set up all of the raffle prizes. It was long and dealt with Japanese falconry and the outrageous prices they pay for anything to do with it.....15,000 dollars for a female gos.....I didn't win **** at the raffle.....not a damn thing.....a few folks actually felt sorry for me and gave me a T shirt that they won....It was a CHC meet shirt that had the wrong date printed on it....I put Bob up with Kurts male and female cast and within twenty seconds, Kurt's female and Bob locked talons. I seperated them and Bob took off after her. I had to stand in front of them to keep them apart. Kurt's female was food screaming the whole time. I decided to hold off on this flight and put Bob in the truck for the time being. I flew him later and caught two bunnies!
