i feed my birds a different times of the day because of my work but if i feed my bird at 9 in the morning and i know i am not going to fly him or her until 3 or 4 the next day i will compensate for that by feed a little more. I used to feed and fly bird at the same time every day and i thought it was the best way because the bird would know it was flying time around a certain time and would be ready to work but in the last two years i have changed the ways i have worked and trained birds and as long as i roughly know what and when i am going to do my birds it is not a problem.

Also if a bird has castings e.g. chick unskinned or a kill. She'll need to cast before she can eat again. If an old pellet is left in the crop and new food on top she could get sour crop.

I like to feed at different times as I often fly them at different times; also if I'm going out for the day hawking, the day before depending on the weight, I would feed early that morning, so the food has gone through the system and cast prior to hunting the following day.

All been said above, different times eg. after hunting the bird is fed to a weight according to what time it is hoped to fly the next day. The bird is never fed until it has cast, or it wont until it has put the next lot over. Once a week I often dont feed at all, kinda depends on weather and weight, but that is what I try to do. Once a week feed up a bit on rat or quail if not hunting the next day.
