what a wonderful day today, my first full on hunting big time with hawks and catching rabbits and despatching one too , what a day i had, i was going tae go to sleep , i have a very severe headache, i had an eye infection the last few days coz of that my head is bursting too, but i couldnt sleep till i post aboot it haha. :D

first of all , harrisi and tonza aka colin and tony, harrisi invited me tae go oot wae him and his mates and brother weeks ago, what a nice lad, i swear to God him and all his mates were so kind and brilliant, i didnt feel like a darkie in the middle lol , such awesome atmosphere, i have to say their all f***cking nutters,so funny and always joking and slagging each other, i found another stephen in colin aka harrisi, such nice teachers the both ae them, first of all my hats off to both of them and brian, i can do nothing without them, they give me my first experiences of falconry , i would never ever be able to repay their debt.

i had so much fun, i enjoyed their company big up to ian aka colins bros, tony mate, u made my f***king day, tony has alot of birds, male and female harris, red tail hawk and 2 falcons, tony just finished training his new male bird, a young one, today was his first day of entering it, well who do u think had the hawk the whole bloody day, yes me, i was hunting wae it lol i entered his bird it its first outing at hunting rabbits, even if he was afraid of what a rabbit is, each time the other birds flew at them she was their wae them and had no probs jumping on them but alone he was a lil suspicious, colin gave me koto his male and also ellie his female, their so attached to colin they werent happy wae me but tonza's male had nae bother wae me at all, lol so docile on the fist and flew to my gloves after a hunt even without food, such a wee stunner.


big up to ned an elder falconer and such a funny guy, one of colins mate and a veteran inthe sport with a vicious female harris and i think the lads name was terry who was the ferret boy for the day, poor lad got a soaking when it came to slagging his hair do and such lol.

i was with 4 experienced falconers and hunted with i dont know 5 or 6 harris hawks , while i got to hunt with 3 but only one liked me haha.

was their the whole day wae them, i swear u need to be so fit to hunt over those hills, very tiring, i was puffed oot big time, we were so high up it was shocking.

colin my friend, i owe u bud and wont ever be able to repay for kindness mate, we caught 6 rabbits and missed maybe 6 or 7 and koto is a crow hawk he caught a hawk but let it go when he say me and also caught a gull too

ellie got 4 rabbits and alan caught 1 and so did koto, im glad colin took his mates wae him, their company was so awesome it was like going to jack dee and billy connolys concert haha, brilliant folk, love them all tae bits.

special thanks to tony , mate u were too kind u let me hunt with your young bird in the first day of hunting, i had him all day, i really appreciate it and a special thanks to colin and the lads, they all chip in wae petrol for tonys mini bus and they didnt let me fork out my share, such nice people they treated me tae the trip and also got a rabbit as well , nice curry for me the morra haha.

today i learned without a ferret if koto and alan didnt miss the first 2 rabbits while oot crow hawking, we would have only caught 2 rabbits the whole day if it was a success without a ferret
ferrets r so important, i learned that today, bloody hell good workers and the amount of rabbits they sent oot the burrows was awesome, i will never ever forget my experience of hawking and ferreting.

lol thanks alot ben, i swear mate it was brilliant, lol being up near the clouds and hunting is a different experience, from burrows to burrows when all of us go quite so we dont scare the rabbits, oh man the rush when the rabbit runs oot and u slip the hawks at it haha, nothing like it, to dispatch it and to see the hawk tearing up its fur to get into the flesh,nothing beats it bud

it was a long day we hunted till it was getting dark and having funny lads among us made it even better :D, u need tae come up mate, u will luv it
when i first saw ellie attacking the rabbit in the morn, aww man i forgot how tired and puffed oot i was, i ran and ran till i was their watching it dig in haha

left hand side is the red tail of tonys a big massive f***cker and on the right hand side r the harris hawks all fly loose , brilliant

and guess what is the most shocking part theirs a perspex in the harris mews so they can see the ferrets all the time and sit next to them and watch them so they get used tae it, u dont even notice the perspex, clear as a glass and no wonder they work so well wae the ferrets

except for the telemetry , some medical stuff like f10 and raptor essentials

and mews im gonna build, im getting one in september mate so a long way to go yet :D im buying a young bird, dont want to take on someone elses bad habits, it sounds nice and a bargain when i see an advert for sale but i took advice from awesome folk here who bought second hand birds and regretted it

so a young one for me a parent reared female harris hawk and God willing a big one, my beloved dream female goshawk can wait, oh man i just luv gossies :D

mate if it burns too much after a curry, try sticking a suppository up when the sun dont ****e, i swear long long time ago i used to go mental and eat so many chilli curries and i used to suffer piles or something, coz my lack of fibre diet and veg, thats why i eat alot of fruit and veg now, so if u use a suppositry that will ease the pain and also me washing my rear end and not using dry toilet paper helps alot lol , cold water does the job and also baby wet ones pmsl

thing about a female harris mate and a big one, its gonna take hare all the time, with a male it will be very hard, jenna aka stephens birds normal quarry is hare and she is a big one and not afraid to take em down , where a male will loose its bottle

well done tony, u done a great job mate and he was always their chasing game with the experienced birds, wont be long before he gets the courage to attack first , all the best wae him but, he is lurvley, u truly made my day, u r too generous

Ians wee male (Ally) went up on a soar and all of a sudden a big female peregrine came out the sky at him. it stooped at him a few times, he was turning upside down and showing the talons. the wee fella got a fright i think.
the pere' was just playing with him as she could have had him for tea easily, but what a stunning flight. great to see but i reckon Ian got a bigger frieght than Ally. lol.

about the carrying thing, yes ellie has done it many times now mate.
she actually chased a rabbit down hill at super speed, hit and lifted the rabbit right off the hill and carried it for a good 20 - 25 yards before bringing it safely and smoothly to ground. awesome stuff. its something ive never heard of with a harris only eagles like you say mate but she has done it a few times and its pretty stunning to see, you like that one mate, i did.

my birds do the biz. that day, cotto, (MHH) took 1 rabbit a gull and a crow. my female ellie took 4 rabbits. she even lifted a rabbit right off the hill in one swoop and carried it for 25 yars mate. awsome stuff.
just out of shot there is one of those big hill rabbits couldnt fit it into the pic. lol.

oh the camo gear. we just wear that for the photo. we wear pink shirts and pokodot wellies up on the hill. lol

lol @ romeo true mate, my skin colour is enrique eglesias type lol colin made me look south indian and bengali haha like mr patel etc, made me laff alot, luv it, specially with the elvis style hair, lol mate we didnt take any rifles with us, most were caught by ellie and one by koto and one by alan and koto also caught a gull and a crow, he is a crow hawk mainly and still luvs taking rabbit, but when ellie is their she leads the pack and doesnt give anyone a chance, she is the leader, its amazing she is a strong minded female and keeps the males at bay lol typical bitchy woman haha, no offence




ben my friend i will post it up my friend so sorry, i didnt forget aboot it, but my wife makes em so i asked her, she was too pi55ed aff with me cutting the rabbit up and making a mess she didnt bother giving me the recipe

i will get it for u soon enuff, it was awesome by the way, always luv the rabbit curries , u need to use a steam pot to soften it up otherwise it will take hrs to soften the meat up , i will post what she puts in it cheers

mate she uses veg oil, cut up onions and different spices first, before she puts the meat in

we stopped using ghee long time ago

for quickness mate

first of all get a steam pot the one that is like a whistling kettler with a thing on top to let steam oot :D


vegetable oil or ghee or sunflower oil 3 or 4 tablespoons
2 chopped onions mate
3 chopped tomatoes or a small can of tomatoes
garlic and ginger mixed one tablespoon only

cook for 15 mins till brown but not dark brown just till its soft and brown, dont burn

then put in some red chilli powder to suit taste or half a teaspoon
half teaspoon salt
mixed spices garam masala and some other mixed ones u can buy from the asian shop, ask them u need mixed spices for a curry.

cook for a further 3 mins

then chop the rabbit into small pieces for deeper taste
then pour in one and a half litre water or if u want a thicker gravy put in a bit less.

leave in the steam cooker for 45 to 50 minutes, then check if the rabbit is
tender

wife says if its tender enuff and u want a thicker gravy with more taste, take aff the lid and leave it open and cook till its slightly drier and the gravy gets thicker


and add some chopped green coriander from the asian shop, it tastes better , let it cook for a couple of more mins and bobs your uncle mate

serve with a nice chapati or nan , its lurvely

by the way mate she says u can also add green chopped chillies in it too the thin and strongest stuff u get from an asian shop, add to suit your taste buds not too much u will be ****ting all day the next day lol
