I found this which makes not shock information but perhaps an eye opener to everyone especially novices and Falconers to think a little more when they are with or without their bird.

yes minty ive spotted a few pics on here when the birds have been in training and the mews jesses have been left on as they were flown free just for a quick flight to see how the reacted off the creance tut tut ,things like this can be the death of a bird the start of every season all my equipment is checked and regreased lines checked for rot ,swivels checked the scales checked to see if working and weighing correctly its called good management and caring for your bird ??

well said all. it just brings us back to the old argument about introducing a licencing system. i personally change my equipment far more than is necesary. this is because i like to see my birds waring nice well fitted new equpment. i also have 2 creance lines that i use. they get changed on rotation every 2 years.
what value do you put on your pride and joy!
