Hi Dagash,
I am a bit late in picking up this thread, why don`t you pop down to the Northamptonshire Raptor Club meeting, there is one this Thurday and the last Thurday of every month. Northampton is not a million miles from you, there you will meet falconers flying all types of birds and willing to help in any way they can. Check out the link below.

be4 you go and fly with other club members you will need to train your bird obviously you need land to do so,so gaining land be4 getting your bird would be wise.Unless you mean you want to contact a club near you to find out where you can find land if so then you still need to do this be4 getting your bird

Hi,
I'm new to this as well - doing my course at Hagley in a couple of weeks. There are plenty of farms around Clent/Romsley with loads of suitable land - thats not far from you (?). I know they allow shooting etc. Perhaps enquire round there - thats where I intend going when I get my bird later in the year.

Hi Guy's can we cut Dagash some slack here and give him a little help.
He is an accomplished Falconer in a strange country, where he comes from, Dubai UAE you can just go and fly your bird almost anywhere in the desert without having to ask anyone if you can do it, so our ways here are strange for him and he has no idea of how to go about finding land for his use.
I am sure some of you will remember Mohammed out put up links to a lot of good videos and pic's for us especially the Gyr x Pere hunting Gazell, he has helped us so I think we should try to help him.
Falconers in the UAE are great guys and will help you to go hunting anytime you want, they will pick you up from the Hotel drive you to the hunting lands buy you a meal and take you back to your Hotel and all they ask for in return is frendship, so lets just show him that UK Falconers are the same and offer a hand of friendship and a bit of understanding.

I do agree there Terry,

As for Birmingham ...i lived @ Worcester and Hereford (not far from brum)...plenty of land to fly a hawk/falcon there.Although getting permission will be a bit more of a struggle.

:) Hi i used to run the garden centre next door to the falconry centre there. i can tell you that you should head off over towards bewdley way if you want some land. I ised to live in a little place called shatterford (just outside of kidderminster) I got very friendly with the gamekepper there. His name was gary. We had over 4500 acres for hunting and shooting ! i helped him out on the weekends and he let me have shooting rights to the hole lot !
Just be prepaired to give something in return when asking for land usage. A farmer at some point will allways need a helping hand !
