Hi all,
Decided to go with Marshall's for the telemetry and ordered a tail mount with the rest of the gear.
What arrived was not expected. A small aluminium piece which I am at pains to figure out how to install. I was expecting a leather mount with the fixings for the transmitter attached. Been away from the sport too long. Technology and all that LOL. Anybody let me into the secret of fitting this. Looks as if it should go over the base of the feather but not sure. Am I just being thick?

spot of glue, then crimp onto a single deck feather using long nose pliers. Or use the Marshall crimping tool. What size is the mount / falcon, hawk is it for ?

I've a tiercel Marshall crimping tool for sale.

Yours Jim.

no your not bieng thick but when you fit it on deck feather make sure the beveled edge is on top square rdge to the bottom so it tackes the transmiter properly rd

Thanks OUTFLYING and RED-DEVIL.
Just as I thought. My only concern with this method is the strain on one deck feather. Think I will manufacture a plectrum style bell mount with a fitting for the transmitter so that the weight is distributed over two feathers.
This will give me the advantage of another bell also.
Any thoughts on the backpack harness. Does anybody use one on a FHH?

I have never had a problem with strain on one deck feather. In fact Fox use's two transmitter tail mounts on each side of the deck feather. The Marshalls clips are easy to use and stay on very well. No mess and if you buy the Marshall pliers it will last you a life time.

I would never use a back pack on any bird that enters Brambles or heavy cover at speed. Some people on here might have used a back pack on a FHH but i havent heard of it.
Why do you want to use one, when the other methods of attachment for a FHH are tried and tested.
