I was just wondering, now that the site has been like this for a few months and people have had time to get used to it, How do you find it?

Do you like it better now or do you prefer things how they were before the change of skin:?:

I prefered how things looked before and how the site worked etc

You:?:

the only thing I miss is where you used to be able to see who was viewing the thread at the top of the page - helps to see what the LURKERS are up to!

I just dont find it as a falconry site ?
I find it as a chat room where you can talk about everyday issues and
have a laugh ,i must admit i do go over the top sometimes?
Which i should curb ?
I was 1 of the first members on here and from the start i knew it would catch on ,some people didnt think it would do so well .
Thanks for a great site .

I stutter so i find it easier to correspond with the world .
Im going on that speech course gareth gates went on on thursday so i should be talking normal in a few weeks after 36 years of not being able to speak fluently .

I could do without some of the humour, especially as there is often better wit in the local public convenience. But that is probably because I'm senile.<vbg>

It might be an idea if everyone could remember this is a public forum with the posts available to the general public who will no doubt form their opinion of falconry and falconers from what they read. It is public opinion that (eventually) shapes our laws and decides whether our sport survives.

Otherwise, an excellent forum and definitely improving day by day. The sneers and jibes from the occasional idiot against anything they don't understand seem to be diminishing, but perhaps they are currently busy elsewhere.... <g>

Yo JB. My mentor from moons ago had a really strong stutter, but it didnt stop him from being a great bloke and an excellent falconer. The amazing thing is, is that when he had a drink he lost it. Probably explains why he is ****ed most of the time (LOL).
I came onto this forum after it had already changed, and I find it very easy to navigate. Although I love falconry to a passion I really do like the fact that many of the discussions on here involve every day topics aswell. I also like the fact that regardless of what goes on here the public do have access and can see that we are all normal people. Yes some of the comments on the posts can be very tricky, but it shows that we really do care about what we do, and that we have nothing to hide like other traditional field activities. (U'll have to excuse me on this one cause I dont agree with the term 'Field Sports')

Personally, I find the humour pretty good, if a little overdone sometimes. There are one or two wits on here who make things readable. Even I have learned to lighten up, on occasion. It's the spelling that gets my goat at times, but that's just the way I am. I think it's a pretty good forum, all things considered.

I like it the way it is but it could be a little more user friendly, took me ages to learn how to post new threads and put piccy's up not being that computer literate I did have some problems.
As for the site it's self I find it good fun and informative although sometimes I feel it is better to keep out of certain threads when I can see it is heading for trouble.

Then, of course, we have a Doric speaking Pakistani. Are there, Moses??<vbg>

P.S. For those who don't know, Doric is what the Scots of the north-east claim is their native language. Da yer ken mae drift?

Putting piccy's up has always been a problem as you have to resize pics etc... unfortunately the forum doesn't allow you to upload pictures as you have them mainly because there are so many formats and sizes already, but also because it will take people a VERY long time to upload the full file size.

How can we make it more user friendly to post etc... ? We'd love to hear suggestions to improve the initial experience as much as possible.

everything is easy once you know how..
thats cool sparrow a bit like the chat room, not that I use it. It took me 1/2 an hour to type this short burst. I can understand why the kids use text short hand, though i cant stand it...

Out of interest...why do some members have senior member/brancher/passage etc etc as part of their profile whilst other members (some of which have been signed up for longer) have junior member/chick/egg.
Its a little confusing as most new people would be more likely to take advice more seriously from members with a senior member tag. Not all members with a senior member etc tag have birds/experience.
Just a thought..

the forum looks excelent...only thing i can see wrong if to be picky is the new
"new welcome panel in the forum display showing new threads in the last 24hrs, and new threads since you last visit." makes it look a little too cluttered with info that is'nt crutal and can be obtained by a click of a button, i know its only a trial.... and this is only my opinion
