I would go for a size 8 m8. Size 6 is more suitable for smalleer males and falcons. Sizes 6 and 8 are the two sizes that Sampo recommend right acros the board for falconry. Unfortunately, others izes are available but noone seems to import them. The main reason for importing into the UK at the moment is for falconry as there are not many who need them for big game fishing. I know that they are expensive but you seriously cannot buy any better swivel in my opinion.

Moses before you go and spend a fortune on Sampo Swivels give Micky100 a PM he sells swivels that are as good as Sampo at a fraction of the cost.
I have used them and the only problem I have had is the ring is too small on the ones I have but I now understand that this has been rectified on the new batches that he has now.
We haven't got sophisticated test equipment here but we ran our own tests and couldn't break one
Well worth a look and he's a nice guy as well (for a Geordie that is lol)

The only problem with the no.6's are the size of the rings.................they are about 7mm internal, so if you have wider jesses they wont go through very well. I use no.8's on both Saker and MHH. :D and I buy them in direct from the States;)

I've been using Mikey's swivels for a few months and had no problems. They're a fraction of the price of Sampo's.

The rings on these are not safe looking to me. But if you buy them from Western Sporting they take those rings off and weld thicker ones back on. Western Sporting advertises here on the IFF....

If you are going to use Sampo style swivels, use only SAMPO. The reason is this. Sampo backs up their products. I used to buy my Sampos at the local deep sea fishing store. The owner stopped selling the cheaper 'copycats'. His customers complained about the lower priced 'copycats' breaking under stressful fishing conditions. I also recommend a Size 8, 6 for smaller raptors. I also use the Coast Lock design. You just need a really strong grip (which I've developed over 35 years) to open and close it.
