Went out today on some new permission just to check it out really. Pretty good area (lots of ducks:twisted: ). There must have been about 10 red kites flying about and i was just wondering if they pose a threat at all to my MHH. I gess not but i would be interested to know:?:

kites are usually scavergers the only thing they might do if there brave enough is try and nick the food from your bird, but very unlikely

I have flown HH and RTail where there have been numerous red kites with no problem, they just came over to see if there were any s****s around.

they can come in very close as if to attack but not with any meaning!! They are simply nosey. It is usualy the youngsters, the only time they will be any bother is if you fly too close to a nest site..same as buzzards.
We have dozens around here all the time and have never had one problem..they don't even bother my pigeons... so just enjoy their flight!!! If you have a spare bunny at the end of the day then chuck it out for them. Crows are more of a problem and threat.
