Hi
This morning on the way to work i spotted a Saker sat in a tree alongside the A34 just North of Winchester. This is the seccond sighting of this bird, as on Saturday or Sunday my wife spotted what 'looked just like my bird' sat on the central reservation barrier on the M27 by Fords'. Does anyone know who this bird belongs to? Today it was sat on the embankment trees which is the boundary of some of my permission, will try and get out there over the weekend, though it will no doubt of moved on by then!

I live nowhere near this area nor know of whom this bird belongs. I must say however that this is one of the reasons why I love falconry. There are too many people out there who would just go and catch the bird up and tell no one. This is an excellent example of the type of person who really does care and puts themself out to reunite the bird with its owner.
Well done m8.

saker was lost from South Wales area some months back. It was reported to IBR. The transmitter failed either due to the mountains or who knows. Several of us out searching for about 6 days but no signal, batteries were good back then and a beautiful clear bell, but only one possible sighting. He used to fly to the kite I think. Sadly it is probably dead, but I guess you never know!

Problem is if you loose them in one county they can turn up miles away.
Think some one in the midlands lost a Saker that turned up in Abadabi or some where. It was hunting for itself so it stayed there. That's the trouble with a migration instinct I guess.
