Micoplasma (not Microplasma Kev lol) is a organism without a cell wall, this make it neither bacteria or virus, and very difficult to treat. It normally causes sinusites in birds, but can also show up as sudden death and/or painful/useless joints.
It is proven very difficult to get ridd of in pob and the well known medication as Tylosin or marbocylin have in soem cases shown little or no effect.
Tetracycelin has shown to be helpfull, in combination with flushing sinuses, but it seem to easily return even tough it been "cured".
Mycoplasmosis is getting more and more comon in game birds and will transfer to bop. Therefore highest attention when you feen red leg patridges or pheasant as the number of cases of mycoplasmosis has rapidly increased over the last few years.
Do not feed game that have watery eyes, even if its just a tiny bit.
Mycoplasmosis will not show up on a normal test for "bacteria, virus" it has to be specifically asked for and sent away fresh. Even then it can be very difficult to find. Just the test it self on one quail is 60 pound trough a vet (our quail supplier reguraly test his).
