Hi all, this is my first post so go easy eh??, having been away from falconry for some years now, and considering making a comeback (wife permitting, of course!!) i have heard that the DOE (dept of environment) inspect and licence private mews? is this true? if so what are the requirements? maybe its not true and my source is talking bo***x!! can some one shed any light here please? thanks.

never heard of anyone inspecting a mews, and the LEGAL requirement is that the bird can stretch its wings. But thats just cruel imo, just make it as big as possible

not to good on the legal requirements but the only inspection members at my local club have is from the chief member and thats because it was decided by the clubim not sure though so dont count me on this one

Depends on where you are from. If you are over in the USA then you will need to have your mews and equipment inspected by your states Fish and Wildlife officers.
