Hi, - about insurance.
Most local councils need to see a certificate before you can pop a friendly bird on someone’s fist for charity etc., at a local event. BASC & CA don’t issue certificates, and as you are not pursuing ‘falconry’, you do not appear to be insured anyway. The insurers I have talked to say showing birds OK, give us some cash, but public handling - no way!
I am lucky to be sponsored for my insurance, but other would-be demonstrators often ask me this question.
Any ideas / comment?
cheers Dr Norm
