What do you all think is the minimum thickness kangaroo leather that can be used for jesses/anklets/bewetts?
For a HH RT etc?

So is 1.2mm really a minimum thickness for all birds..or would that decrease as the bird gets smaller?

No..your first post asked :

That is what my answer was for; if you have a kestral or merlin or even a spar then maybe you would go a little thinner....................perhaps, 0.8 - 1mm. Maybe on of the breeders might tell you what they use on their smaller birds.

Also depends on the skin and how it was tanned.

K, which are the tanning methods to avoid and which ones are good?

Vegtable tanned is best for jesses anklets etc. and is stroger; chrome tanned is better for hoods.......................

Chrome tanned dosent block as readilt though. With veg tanned you can make it water proof after dying.
