Big wallet and a strong left arm!
Common sense, falconry experience of at least a RT or Gos. Access to suitable land and plenty quarry, lots of time to get it fit and fly it.
oh, and a big glove
A pack of hounds and some hunters?

You dont need a big glove. Or sponsorship from horse and hound.

Well the glove isnt a problem. Things are looking up then.
And im counting down the years that the 11 year old leaves home as I have already warned the 14 year old:lol: And im a firm believer of the new man, as I have girls so he can pay for the weddings, so the wallet may get a little bigger. ( I live in hope )

i have had a female goldie on my fist at a summer fair wearing only a polo shirt and a small glove (plus trousers etc of course!).
when the little jack russel poked its head a little too far under the fencing at my feet I certainly would have welcomed an overlay at that particular moment in time

I would say to own a golden eagle,(and to do it justice) you need time, plenty of land, dedication and an understanding of what they are.Everybody on this forum will know the bond they feel they have with their chosen bop, but for those of you who have flown a goldie it is a different ball game altogether.
If you want to get into the mood for goldies read the Mike Tomkies books. They are nothing to do with falconry but this guy spent years in the Highlands studying, filming and photographing wild golden eagles at the nest.Once you pick up one of his books you will not be able to put it down. Regards

Not much help for training/hunting etc - but I loved the Gerald Summers books about Random - his female Golden. The first was called "Owned By An Eagle" - the other was "Wings Over Wales". He's a great story teller!
"Eagle Dreams" by Stephen Bodio is a great read - all about Mongolia, Berkuts etc.
Just my opinion!
