I'm nearly done now for this season with my F Harris Seeker injured(again) and seeing young Rabbits popping up from warren after warren these last couple of weeks. I will be flying Missi my falcon for a while longer but to tell you the truth I'm totally exhausted the strain of the season has had its toll on me but the desire to get Missi a few more kills is greater. Some of the factors that a hard season can put on any falconer can be tremendous.

Flying daily often effects family around you I'm glad I have an understanding one, but tension can be felt when your spending more time with your hawks than your bird. The expense if your bird gets injured mine has come to £725 this season, the anguish of your birds health once an injury occurs (My god where are my Pills). Organising days out lol going on the knock for permission, getting knock backs compansated by getting permish training dogs to work with your birds, cleaning out mews and kennels, the list goes on and on WHY DO I DO IT.

Simple cause I love it.

Anyone else suffering from stress related falconry? if so just remember it will pass and the love of your participation in this practice will pull you through.

Cheers Big JoeJoe

TWO(!!!) metacarpal fractures to my FHH this season, plus a shoulder strain and now she is moulting! Vet bill was over £250, thankfully she is insured. Two rabbits and caught, but never held, three pheasants and that is the sum total of my season with her. Out with my EEO tomorrow, hopefully ferrets can put something up for him. Whether he will do anything is a different matter!
