Hi there! think it is nice if people who are waiting for a 2006 BOP will just post here what they are waiting for. And maybe putting some pictures here of breeders birds or their own if it has arrived. It is very early in the season this thread, but then again it will be in time for the first arrivals.
I myself am waiting for a tiercel peregrine intended for the corvids. No pictures yet and think it will last till May or so. Will be first clutch and parent reared.

only birds im after this year for definate are a female red shaheen, which im hoping to breed off my old female and a falcon mews male,if i dont itll be 3000euros to the continent for one? allso im looking for a really nice dark, hopefully large female peregrine to go with a cracking male i got last year. but then ive got 5 empty imprint pens in the garden that i fancy filling with some nice"little stuff" kessies, american kessies, greater kessies, lesser kessies and maybe a pair of red footed falcons! and thats it? but then ive been waiting a while for some eleonoraes falcons from germany that didnt produce last year and im still reserching hawk owls! ill just have to wait and see, I WANT TWO PAIRS OF EVERYTHING???

How much do you sell them for?
Berkut
02-03-2006, 08:11 AM
The price varies a bit each year .A lot depends on the colour. The females tend to be about the same price as a female 50/50 gyr/per as they don,t come out much bigger. The males are a bit larger and tend to be a bit more than a male 50/50.

Hi Dave, he tells me that 2lb 6oz is starting weight for his superiors, which does seem a little low to me! what d you think?
Dave G
31-03-2006, 06:35 PM
i would say its an average size female as i know the superior female would fly at around 2lb 10 oz up and the males at around 1lb 12 oz

no course booked as yet m8. To be honest im hoping to get someone off here to show me the ropes  Believe me i wont stop there! a course will be taken before i even contemplate a bird m8 but i think if i can get out in the field with some of the local guys and spend months with them theyll be able to give me much more practical advise.
Ive already had loads of different comments and suggestions from peaple on here,( of which i really do do appreciate!) some contradict others and some agree.
I know when i get my own bird ill probably do somethings different than others ! but ( and i mean but) A bird will not be entertained until that time is right.
So keep the comment suggestions comming m8 as it all helps.

always said the best way to learn is to see it done, nothing better than hands on m8 hope you get the help u need and the days out with the lads as this stops you rushing in and i know you will not do that as we have already been there, some times people get the wrong impression as they see a tame harris flown back and forth but it takes months to get them hunting well ,and years of experience

I read a thread on here somewere that was posted not so long ago about a guy on here who had a bird and didnt think after seeing all the time and commitment that went into looking after the bird that the bird was right for him. Well fair play to him for admitting this, as that really must be a hard thing to do. But im really a country boy at heart and i love the great outdoors, along with hunting, shooting fishing etc !
And i never stray into anything thing like this without seeing it through!
If i do find that the commitment is to much ( but ill bet you a fiver i dont Lol and u can quote me on that ) i wouldnt enetertain a bop anyway  if that makes sense:rolleyes:
