I'd like to thank Terry and Simon for their hospitality today.

I popped down this morning to pick up a couple of birds, very nice too!

I got a guided tour with Simon (Terry was still half asleep:rolleyes:  ) and got to see some awsome birds. Gyrs as white as snow and wall to wall Peres but I've got to mention Terrys FHH.

Now I know Gyrs and Peres are awsome looking birds but you have to see this Harris to believe it. Terry must of AI'd a donkey into the bloodline somewhere:shock: .

If anyone is after a LARGE Harris get your name down!!

Thanks again for the hospitality, might get to stay a bit longer at the sales weekend.

Lads I kid you not, I've seen a few HH in my time but she is THE biggest I've seen.

Terry might correct me but I think her hunting weight was 2lb 14.

I will try to get a few pic's of the 2 pairs of Harris Hawks tomorrow didn't think anyone was interested so i never botherd to put them up before. Yes the bigger female hunted at 2lbs 14 1/2 and the smaller one 2 lb 13ozs i also have a small pair that the Female hunted at 2 1/2 lbs but her wing was broken by the AQS at Heathrow so we never tried her out here only in the USA

Hi Stu........ Yes that is what happened when I collected the birds from the AQS they told me that one of the Hawks had a broken wing and that it must of happened in transit. I had already spoken to the MAFF (DEFRA) Vet and he had told me the birds were all fine when he had checked them in the morning, 8 hours before, and I am sure he would have noticed a little thing like a broken wing when he inspected them. I hate using Heathrow Airport for Import/Export as every one there seems to think that they have the right to inspect the birds from the Air Line freight handlers to the CITES team, the birds are in and out of the box's every 5 mins or so. This matter was brought up at the last Federation meeting with CITES at Bristol in December and they were going to look into the way Customs & CITES behave with live Imports at LHR we have not heard anything further since the meeting but I will remind them on Monday. They once held a shipment over the Easter Bank Holliday, 5 days total, because they wanted to check with DOE that the Import papers were not forgeries and then had the front to charge me £17.50 per box for each 6 hours the birds were there.
And no we did not get an appology or compo because they did not do anything wrong, such is life

Hi Moses sorry M8 they are not for sale read the thread people were asking for Pic's of the breeding pair and to be honest the pic's do not show the actual size of the birds and to me they look like normal HH but believe me they are not the Female is a monster and it is like flying a Tawny Eagle if she is on the fist and you have to carry her all day at a field meet.

I agree Terry the pics dont do her justice. The male in with her was a decent size as well so there isn't such a size difference.

Hi Tim,
We normally produce White, Dark and Black M8, have a look on the website there are pic's of some there Sorry miss read that the Gyr Peales are normally Dark or Black M8 although last year we inseminated with a White Gyr and got some stunning White chicks.

Hi Gaz........... I have to admit that the logo is in some respects simular to the BFC logo it's round but if you look at it the bird in the centre is not the same it is in fact a stencil taken from a photo of the first Peregrine falcon I ever bred and the writing on the border is also not the same it is also a different shade of green mine being much darker. I have used this logo without complaint for over 16 years now.
I did not design the logo it was done by a company in London who did my stationary, letterheads and cards when we first started to breed full time.
