Was taken out today with Gosflyers up to Yorkshire to hunt some Corvids. Took Missi my Pere/Saker and Mick took his imprint M Gos. Started out with missi first got swept away by the wind on her return she got on a crow and had a great flight and made the crow go to cover, we decided the wind was a bit strong so put her away. Mick got his gos out and some fantastic pursuits ensued. Managed to get a kill. Sorry camera's battery ran out so no pics. But got two pics of Micks gos catching a phes on the last day of the season just forgot to put them up then as they were on my phone cam lol.
This Goshawk male is awsome, fast, brave and a determind killer it's a great Gos and credit to micks training.
Cheers BJJ

thanks for the kind words about my bird lads, yes I got admit i am well pleased with the little fella, and i wish i new the full history behind him. i only took him on a challenge because ive never seen an imprint so scared of being handled, but eight weeks after getting him and he is a completely different bird. i have had some tremendous flights with him, and two or three kills some days, he comes off a kill quite easily and thirty seconds later goes into hunt mode again. but the day was really for joe to try his peri/saker at crows but the wind on the open hill was so strong we had one flight that missi chased a crow for 1/2 a mile or more and we could see it all from our possision where we flew her from behind a stone wall. the crow eventually made the cover of a wood and we lost sight of the falcon for ten minutes but then she appeared coming low up the hill into the full force of the wind, i think she would of had it if it hadnt got into the air before missi did a hundred plus yards was too much of a start in that wind, with a young falcon that was still learning, but she is a game girl and gives 100% in flights you cant ask for more she will come good, well done joe.
