With the weather being so erratic, how are breeders finding fertility? We found that some of the early laying natural pairs were slightly down on the fertility stakes than usual.
However the voluntary semen from the Jerkins and Peregrine has been exceptional, both in quantity and quality right from the end of Feb up until now. Several new young Gyrs have given semen which has been regular and of good quality. One black male who suffered a bad stroke and hasn’t donated for two seasons has started up again and is giving a couple of samples daily, only two days before we had written him of for good!

Hi richard/perer, all ours are really late this year, and I mean LATE, as for fertility we dont know yet, so far so good, but as i said late, seemen no problem, but we need more donators....

Well done on the peregrine chicks Mike nice and early. Getting a few eggs here just got to motivate myself into action. Even the Afican grey is laying in its cage. She is a imprint do you reckon she will take Pere or Gyr semen :o
