My FHH has got wing tip odema.
Vet says he is hopeful that she will be ok but I keep looking and keep thinking that the feathers look like they are about to fall out.
Just keeping my fingers crossed

I'm sorry to hear about your Harris hawk. The long term prognosis is good, but it is really important that the bird retains her primaries. The vet should have given you a powder (I cant remember the name of the drug) which increases the circulation, plus some anti-biotics. Keep the birds wings moving periodically by say jumping excercises or just rolling your fist when she is on the glove (the vet may have suggested you do not fly her for a bit till the blisters/swellings have disappeared). Keeping blood circulation to the wing tips is really important. You must keep the bird out of this bitterley cold NE wind. I invested in a small electric space heater for the bird's night quarters to keep the temperature above freezing on the frosty nights. Like all cold injuries, the bird will be more susceptible to further oedemas, so prevention every winter is the idea.
All this is from my own experience with a female Harris. With prevention it never reoccured.
Very best of luck with her.

Good luck

I went to Neil Forbes in Swindon.
He gave me anti-biotics, powder for the circulation and some good advice.
Also went to see S Bamber in Kennelworth and he checked her over and gave me some more tablets
