Hi everyone my son and I are reletively new to hawking and falconry. We have a Common Buzzard which we are about to fly free for the first time next week, we have just aquired the bells and have a tag with our phone number on him. I have looked at the Marshalls and the Luksander telemetry which seems the ultimate in performance and price, if we were flying falcons that may vanish over the horizon then perhaps the price could be justified. Have any of you hawkers out there got hands on experience with the cheaper end telemetry such as that on sale at Hawkworks? It sounds ok but does it work in practicle situations?:

Wouldnt bother with it. I think it has had some bad reviews on here.
Buy something a bit more expensive and professional but will last you for a few years. If you decide on another hawk or falcon in the future you will already have a good set and ot need to spend extra on another set there and then.

I don't know much about the Tx you mention by Hawk-works, but buying cheap telemetry is false economy. You'le eventualy want to fly other than a common buzard. Then you'le have to go & buy another set Falconry Electronics do a good setup thats not too expensive I've used it on a female peregrine for 3 years & it's never let me down, yet. I've found ,to my cost that, if you buy cheap, you buy twice!
