I know there have been a few threads on this but i don't think any specific threads.

In my G.C.S.E d.t at school i am going to make a food shelf for my aviary.
I was wondering where the best place is to get astro-turf?
This would be much appresiated if anybody had any suggestions.
At the moment i only know of Ben Long, but this is i think expensive.
Also what type of astro-turf would be best e.g dence or soft.
Thanks

Homebase or B&Q mate,they do it in 3ft x 2ft or something
ideal for what you want it for
probably wont need it if its only a food shelf, for a shelf perch then yes.

just remember to get the right stuff its the one that on each blade of grass there is a slight kink in it just over halve way up so if you put your hand on it it gose flat the other stuff is straight and sticks in the bottom of birds feet it both made by astro turf but the later is for door matts.this can cause all sorts of problems but dont take my wordf or it both nick fox and neil forbes have proved it.
good luck
chris

Are the little grass blade things bent in the middle? E.g not just straight

I wouldn't call that astroturf, it's a plastic doormat. The best astroturf is the stuff used for gardens or sporting purposes.

thats the real deal you have there brian m, that door matt stuff is for getting **** of the bottom of your boots so you can see why its no good for birds feet.
you get what you pay for.
