Hi All

Today I registered my Telemetry with the IBR, its something that they have not done or thought of believe it or not. So I am one of the first.... the details required for registration are:-

Information you will need to provide:-

Proof of Purchase
Name & Address of previous owner (if purchased on a private sale)
Maker
Type Receiver
Type Transmitter
Freq
Channel
Serial No
Name & address of the New owner if sold onProviding this information will provide us with tools needed to get your Telemetry back to you as soon as its located after loss or theft.

All items will be registered against your Keeper ID and will be held on the database in your name until such time as its sold on or not functioning anymore.

Its important that you do register your equipment as it could help "convict" if recovered after theft and it will also go some way to act as a deterant to the criminal and make him think twice about nicking YOUR kit if he knows that he can be found out by the Telemtry serial numbers. Most ...if not all systems will have a serial number on it somewhere ..... make a list of all your kit and register...... it can ONLY be a good thing.

It could of done if I had thought about doing this before.... in the event of this guy being caught...the police will only go by my description of the Transmitter...... it would have certainly prevented him from selling it on to an innocent falconer!!

Hi Nemesis

We have to make a start somewhere :).... currently the Police will have nothing solid to follow through with other than a description...... if they have a serial number and a suspect then at least they have something more "tangeable" to carry out their investigation with :)

The honest falconer should see this registration scheme in the same way that a bird is registered.... if you take this step we and our birds are all a little bit safer :D

....also, if you have or can get hold of Smart Water, mark your system, transmitters etc. with it. Each bottle is 'DNA ' registered to you and is virtually invisible. Simply paint a little on various areas and record it, or post code it etc. then should it go walk about, and retreived, the police have a 100% guarentee who it belongs to.
