As promised, this is a follow up from Griff's thread regarding registering with the IBR.
Basically Smartwater is a way of marking your belongings with a special liquid that is registered to the user........................here are details from my pack given to the local householders free of charge. To buy it costs around £30 but the website will have all that on it.

I have it on my Bio Track receiver in several places, even obscure places like under the battery compartment lid, yagi ends etc.
Transmitters are all marked in a few places.

Once marked I simply log what and where it was marked on the pc. in a data base or wordpad; if stolen etc. just contact the police as normal but state that the items are marked with Smartwater and if/when property is recovered, it will be checked over with a UV light and if it is yours, then you get it back and the scumbags get sorted:supz:

I guess breeders like yourself 'could' even paint some on the rings!!! I know that if a bird got nicked then the ring would probably be removed but if a bird goes walk about, and the ring has been marked, then for example the owner hasn't had the bird chipped, there is always that as an extra ID; the breeder could keep all the ring no's that have been treated and listed on a database:idea:
