If I'm boring you then you don't have to read this, for all other newcomers to this sport, "High this is Frank and Tessa's short story. 5 weeks today Tessa came to my possesion. She was fat, slow and not the least bit interested. I have been working with her, manning, short line work, "you know the sort of thing". Then the best bit of advice came from a fellow falconer on this forum and I have made huge progress,(Rather Tessa has). The advice was to find someone local to me (a mentor) and show him Tessa. He gave me wonderful advice and dosen't mind me ringing him asking for more. He has been great and we are becoming good friends. So my first bit of advice to any other newie. Get your self a mentor (with patients) like I haveand you will not look back. The rewards that come from succsessful training are fantastic.
:drinkers: :drinkers: :drinkers: I can't remember the name of the Falconer who gave me this advice but if you can remember who you are Thank you so much and have a good drink this weekend.
Cheers

Frank

I know what you mean Frank, and I have learnt so much from The Hawkmaster in the time that I have known him.
Take last night for instance, I came home from work to find my hawk had a cut under his foot and at the time saw all the blood around his mews and all over me when I caught him up.
Cause I am not too proud to ask for help I quickly rang Paul and he calmly asked me to bring the bird to him, which I did 9 miles away.
And as always he made the treatment he gave my Hawk look so easy after cleaning the wound which then didn't look so bad and a bit of brilliant first aid I was on me way home with my hawk good as new.
I don't mind telling you that a couple of hours earlier I did'nt have much of an idea how to stop a bleed from under a hawks foot but I do now.
So I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank my Good friend Paul for what he did for my Nimbus and me and Coney Catcher for helping as well.
Albie..
