HI , Im new to the forum! Ive fairly recently moved back to Kent and have a new arrival in the form of a son... all the changes meant I struggled to fly my gos as often as I needed and not half as often as she wanted! so she has gone and Im lonely!!!! If anyone local (ish) needs a hand kitting their birds out or if you need some one to look after them while on hols etc I have all the clobber and a 20 X 16 avairy empty. also have telemetry so could lend my services in that area as well.( you could just get a transmitter or pos borrow mine) also have a ferret but will only use if your hawk were 100%with them. Have flown a male HH, a demented mal imprint spar borrowed for a season, a female RT, a female coopers and a f Gos over the best part of 15 years and yes not all at once!!!!! and not in that order either.
My biggest achievment to date? Getting this onto the introduction page...technology just surpasses me!!!! bring back the carrier pigeon.

He mate,
welcome to the forum! I'm a newbie to falconry and currently seeking a mentor to help me achieve my goals with my FHH. Maybe you can show me a few tricks of the trade and and keep your hands-on on the art.....

Where abouts in Kent are you based at mate?

I received the coopers as a 1 year old bird ..supossedly untouched...I had my doubts though as she was british bred and she manned up very very quickly, mantled on the fist but was totally silent....I thought she may have been par trained showed imprint traits so was put back up in weight by the previous owner. Still she looked stunning at 16 1/4 oz very obidient very and aggresive hunter every one I spoke to before getting her said they were a mare to tame but not in this case. I stuggled finding quarry. I think she was large for a coopers but too small for rabbit and full grown pheasant.... probably ideal for partridge.and teal maybe but as i was in sussex with no partrige and loads of heafty bunnies it didnt help. we had various birds and she loved starlings and never carried, they were acrobaticflights but size wise obviously didnt tax her!!!! glad I had one but a bit limiting

I can really relate to the daunting challenge of modern technology as I can't even pick up a message on my mobile...it's interesting here and you'll pick the techno bits up quickly because where there's a will there's a way...Welcome,
sorry about the empty aviary..

for all those asking I live in Meopham (said Mep-ham) (of mep-am) which is between dartford and maidstone. It seems like a nice area but not enough rabbits and far to many ramblers, walkers etc with rabbit size dogs!!!!

Never, in all the time I've been accessing this forum, have I been so keen to open and read a thread.... "Services offered." I must admit to being a trifle disappointed.

Hello Goodfooter
I have flying permission over at Meopham and you are right about the lack of bunnies a lot of people in that area flying on bits they should'nt be and with ramblers and public right of ways through most of the feilds, plus i fly a good male Gos on the grounds.
Cheers Dave

sorry to disappoint the few 'pervs' out there in the falconry fraternity... just for you guys maybe it should have been.....if any folks want a hand holding your fit bird down whilst you kit them out in leather leg cuffs i would be happy to oblige ( casting & jesses) just dont ask me to hold your ferret!!!!
I think my days on this forum may have been short lived!!!!!
Terry... would love to see your birds will call you soon. ( thanks)
Dangerous dave do you live locally you said you fly a male gos does he take rabbits in style?...when I got my female i seriously considered a male but did not personally know any one who would recommend them over a female for rabbiting....I thought they would be more sporting as female just seem to squash bunnies!

Hello Goodfooter
Im in Dartford, and as for the male taking rabbits in style, he sure does i spent the last month of the season in some woodland i acquired(loaded with rabbits) bolting with the polecat through a dense bit of wood he was like sidewinder missile, didnt catch everything as he did get kicked off a couple of the larger rabbits but wouldnt hang about getting up to have another go at them.
cheers Dave
