to be quiet honest i would feed a varied diet of doc ,quail, mice + rat and as to wing damage i wouldnt keep her out of the cold (-0_ below ) as harrises are sussceptable to wing tipodema(dont think youre have a problem down the south of england) but you will be very gutted if it gets it( i had a harris that got it and i was gutted ) and once it its got it theres no getting rid of it

what, gas mark 2???

if the bird is going through a moult then a free loft is (in my opinion) best option.
thus, eliminating any chance of frost bite, retaining a limited amount of fitness, and general well-being.

the food thing. one source of food is never the best option. vary the diet and give ad lib, (ie: as much as she will eat). rabbit, quail, rat, mice, D.O.C. pheasant, pigeon breast, (anything she caught through the season and was frozen).

i must agree with the varied food diet. I feed my birds on quail for a few days at the beginning when i put them down for the moult. i then feed them a rotation of DOC, Rabbit, Mice and Rat and Quail for the rest. Always do manning with my birds throughout the moult, although i do leave them to it a few days each week.
