Hi Members

What falconry books would you say are a must read for falconers.

There are many books written about falconry some good some not so good.

Ive seen a few books on here and in my own collection which i would recommened in a heart beat, and since being a member on this forum ive aquired a few i didnt know about until reading various threads.

If members could post book titles and a small amount of details (bird species etc) it would help me and others expand my collection of books to keep me busy through the moult

many thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,

once the fundamental skills have been mastered, I'd advise any falconer, irrespective of what direction they want to head in falconry, to read Ronald Stevens' Observations on Modern Falconry.
It's one of the very few books, perhaps because of Ronald Stevens' skill with words, that goes beyond the 'mechanics' of falconry.

Tony.

Hi, you must read "The art of falconry from arabian westward" by Ken Riddle, it is one of the best modern treatises on long-wings ive readed ever. Any falconer will take excellent practical advice from this very valuable book.

Hi Dan,

take a look on Paul's site as Ryan suggests. There are some copies for 25, both the 1987 edition and the new reprint.
It could be the best 25 you'll ever spend:yawinkle:
