Ah! It was your fault UKJay! You moved it while HM and I were posting to it!

Hello Ray and welcome.
you looking for wild birds of prey or centres where you can see a good variety of captive birds?

Hi Ray and welcome to the falconry forum! I hope you enjoy your time here! :D

Please tell us your preference so we can help you out a little more. What sort of bird experience are you after? Falconry Centre? or wild BOP's in view in the wild?

All the best, Jamie

Hi Ray,

Well you have an insight into how the forum works with the last little banter! Chaos reigns supreme but we love it.

I would highly recommend the Outer Hebrides for seeing wild BOPs, especially eagles. Harris and Lewis are great for that, stopping off at Skye for the White Tailed Sea Eagle exhibtion (Aros centre). You can camp on Horgabost in Harris - right next to a stunning beach overlooking the small island of Taransay. It doesn't get any better I assure you!

Other than that - head off to some falconry centres and see some BOPs close up. It is great fun.

hi ray, nice to see someone else from teesside on here! there are quite a few of us up north with more than a keen interest in birds of prey, perhaps we might see you at one of our club meets?

Mull is very good and they have observation points to watch the sea eagles.I think the highest density of Golden Eagles is there too.

Ray.. Best place to see Birds of prey is in Gibraltar (straits of Gibraltar) I know its far away, but if your hooked.. what the hell!! ..

Thousand of migrant raptors every year... Black kites.. honey buzzards.. Short toed eagles.. Booted eagles.. all by the thousands... The occasional rare longwings such as Eleonoras lesser kestrels.. Griffon vultures.. Egyptian vultures and many more!!
