if you could choose between a haliaeetus leucephalus or an geranoaetus melanoleucus what would you go for? or do you think that a polemaetus bellicosus is better? the terathopius ecaudatus would be my choice every time though?

Lol! We have A Black Chested and a Bataleur and 2 Balds at the foundation but the 2 balds don't fly - they're just for breeding. The bataleur beats up just about everyone apart from Liz (he's a mummy's boy) and the black chested is a juv but doing really well. Personally I like the Black Chested but that's only cos the Bataleur bit my bum

i presume you are meaning looks. as all of these birds require totally different types of flying. as for me it has to be geranoaetus melanoleucus (black chested buzzard eagle) but the marshall is an awsome looking creature.
But then again i am biased.;)

Have a black eagle and a martial at the centre near me. The black eagle is awesome and that would be my choice.

bateleur eagles arent scavengers!!! they go after snakes and have the shortest tail of all eagles!! and all their featehrs stand erect when catching a snake to protect from the snake bite!!

Yeah. Thats the man i held his black eagle (massai) the other week. He took us out and we saw him fly shame about the wind though didn't allow for much soaring. The martial is a stunning bird aswell though.
I only recently met mike through the northamptonshire raptor club. It sort of narrows it down a bit when there are very few of these birds about!
Mike seems to be a genuine good bloke happy to help. I was very impressed with the centre aswell.
I can remember a guy called Alan Oswalld had, I'm not sure if it was a batteleur or an imperial I think he called it Pegusus. Either way he used to walk around with it on his bare fist, never hunted it. It was about 30 yrs ago so I can't remember that much. I think he started Raptor Rescue or something?
