As always Griffs work is stunning but why did you want the plumes?? Are they just for show or are you going to use them as an everyday hood? I personally like my hoods to be as light as possible.

So just for show then? Should look good and do the biz - hope your not like me and stuff them in your pocket whilst flying or the plumes will look crappy quickly.

Griffs hoods are out the top drawer. No need to go anywhere else as far as I am concerned.

Sprout..... the hackled hoods weigh no more than a standard hood.... just under 1/2oz. If you weigh an average size hood from anyone you will find that its 1/2oz or there abouts. Hackles are only some feather and a bit of wool...hardly any weight at all!?

The hood sizes that John has asked for are x2 size 5R x1 size 10LR x1 Size 41/2R and x1 Size 6R. A female Barbary would normally be a size 3R ..... so I dont think John has ordered one of my hoods for his Barb.

Hi Sprout

Anyone who buys a hood from me is on a "service contract" ... refurb is part of what i do as well. Let me know when you need the hoods.... new birds will sonn be upon us and obviously I will be getting busy... so think about it sooner rather than later :D

I was only joking but nice one, not many manufacturers will go to that length to support their customers. What is best for my hoods? Show you the hoods that fit them now or when pull the birds out bring them to you for fitting? Or do you know what hood size will fit them best?

Hi Sprout

Are these Peregrine "minors"? If they are they will be the first that I have hooded. So ....what are the weights of each (flying). I would recommend a Slijper hood...as these hoods have the best fit IMO. You would have to give me the approx measurement behind the eye as well
