With a Red?.....Prolly not as you have to keep the weight down to fly it and have it return. A Harris? Maybe...depends on the bird and how high you are able to fly it.
I would recommend not flying through the molt as this is a good time for the game to raise more babies for you to catch next yr. Also so you can feed your bird up so that you are sure that the feathers will drop and regrown with all the nutrients that they need. They need the nutrition so you don't end up with brittle or fret marked feathers.

I have a first yeat MRT but I've been advised not to fly him through his first moult because this time it will be his proper adult plummage coming through and is best left to rest and stay well fed during the first moult. I might fly him through next year though
