Right well what do i say/ Im in bristol and ive been interested in bop for many years. My grandfather was a great flyer of the kestrel. as a child this got me thinking that one day ill have 1 ! Anyway im a self employed guy now working from home, i own my own pet website. The business is ticking over nicely and i have more free time on my hands, now than i ever have had.

So here it is ! Im looking for someone near bristol who can take me out with them on a field trip, i want to rack as many peaple s brains as possible, learn all the do's and don'ts before aquiring the bird that best suits each of us ( myself and the bird we both have to want the same thing! ).

Im particually interested in the harris hawk ! from what ive heard this bird can be flown all year round, is relitively easy to train, and is very good in the field.

You may think this isnt the right bird to start with ! thats why im here seeking your advise. Id never commit to purchasing any animal that i wasnt 100 percent informed about.

I currently breed parrots and other more what i call soft birds lol. So i have more than commitment to my birds and will pass all my enthusiasum on the bop.
this is a dream ive allways wanted and nows the time for me to pursue it !
So once again any advise will be greatly recieved and appreciated.
mat

Flying through the moult is not detrimental in any way shape or form to the birds health.
The detriment from my point of view is the possibility of breaking feathers while they are still growing and thus impairing the performance of your hawk during the proper hunting season when we should all be out doing a bit

Matt,
Go to the bottom left of the screen. You will see a box that says default style. Change that to enhanced. This will give you another tool bar on top. There you will see 'unread posts'. If you click on this you will see all the posts that you have not read since the last time you were here. If you read something then it will disappear from the list. Then if you want to see all the posts, read or not, from the last 24 hrs click on 'Todays posts'. This should help you navigate the forum a little easier. If you have any problems don't hesitate to ask.
