Dear all,

being the Austrian IAF Delegate I would like to ask you all about your opinion about the IAF. I'd like to compare falconers opinions here in Austria with the ones in the UK (and elsewhere).

So if you could let me know your personal thoughts about it - e.g. if you find it a very good and useful organisation and/or what you like and/or dislike about it and how, if at all, it affects you as a falconer.

Every opinion is very much appreciated! If you don't want to drop a few lines, you can also just click at the relevant poll, which is anonymous & multiple choice...

Kind regards,

Christian Habich

I had never heard of it until this post, I have been involved in falconry for some time as well. I will canvas our club members to see how many of them are aware of this organisation and what they do. (Still not sure about that myself).

Im afraid i've never heard of it, but that doesnt really prove much lol.

One question: isnt the "What is IAF?" and "What does it do/has it done again?" Really the same question?

Have heard of the IAF and know the basis of why it was formed but still not sure what it does for the sport. More info would be great.

Hi Christian, I believe the IAF works hard for Falconers throughout the world, unfortunatley they are little heard of in the UK as most of our communication is done through the Hawk Board.
Tony Crosswell works hard and puts in long Hours as the UK representative.
I think you were one of the IFF members that I met at the last Dinner that Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al~Nahyan gave for us in Abu Dhabi 2 months before he sadly died in November 2004. I shared a table with IAF reps,Nick Fox, Tony Crosswell, Matt Gage, Martin Jones, Prof. Marc Petroff there was about 10 of us at the table, my Daughter was also there but I think she was dragged of by one of the Sheikhs to dine with them.
Keep up the good work this is important for International Falconry and you should be applauded for your efforts
