amazing that a bird will do that but suppose its like most birds that migrate must have an ability to know were they are and are going.

The Northern Kites Project birds were originally taken as chicks from the nest in Wales. The project release site itself is in Derwentside, Gateshead. After a month or so one of the tagged release birds disappeared and could not be traced on the telemetry. The had given it up for dead. Some time later a volunteer from a release site in Wales telephoned to say the the bird had found its way back to the area from where it was taken as a chick. 300 odd miles or so. Now thats some instinct kicking in there.

i actually saw this bird or think it was this bird, about 7-10 days ago, the bird was in between harrogate and leeds near harewood house, the bird was huge on the wing, and looked lost and disorentated, it was certainly an eagle nearly smashed my van up....:rolleyes:

I thought it was good advertising space ,can anyone say they bought a barn owl off me and it flew back to me ,try and make it as far as possible please .
Make sure we tell them it was grizedale rescue centre and admission is £10 .

On the idea of publicity stunt , the picture in the sun was taken right in front of the cove at malham. Another peice to attract visitors does sound coinicdental.
