I thought it was falcons need it as they tend to pick around small bones and the like when they're eating whereas hawks just eat the lot and cast it up later?

funnily enough i was out today with my HH andwhen calling him into the glove, I'd through a bit of meat up into the air for him to grab in mid air, the odd one fell too the ground gathering a bit of dirt, but after he landed and ate the dropped peice he did actually grab a few bits of gravel also, afterwards..:-|
