well some double info but I have both A Hawk for the Bush and A manual for Hawking. And both are great reads. But if you got to choose, a hawk for the bush is definitely much better. You got to read it at least 3 times although to get the rich content fully (like with all the better books)

A Hawk for the Bush is excellent and I've just got hold of a copy of Liam O'Broins book which is also very good. I certainly think it's worth having a read of both.

There's only a few copies of Liam O'Broins book left, it's not cheap being £75 but it's well worth the read and the illustrations are very good to. There's also a chapter covering Spars in Phillip Glasiers "Falconry and Hawking."

The other book I've found very good although not related to hunting with a spar is "The Sparrowhawk" by Ian Newton, has some very good info in it with regard to the wild Spar and it's habitat etc.

All The Best,

Gaz is that the first edition? I purchased my second edition copy through Coch-Y-Bonddu Books in the UK for £75, they've only got a few copies left I think.

In fact people only wanting a hawk for the bush could even buy the whole new series. I am sure "a falcon in the field" can also be sold seperately there will also be falconers interested in that book. At least in the next years.

Think the both books hawk for the bush and falcon in the field belong in the bookshelves of any falconer taking the falconry very serious. In fact I myself did not read falcon in the field yet but will next months must definitely be an excellent read. Hope there is something about sakers there also.

The auction saker is doing great made some first jumps to the fist but not without hesistations yet..but shes doing great not too low because of the season.
