Its the time of the summer floods near rivers. Here in Hungary I fly my birds at a floodplain. Its very good coz there are many ducks, snipes, geese, herons etc. also the hares must stay on smaller islands where water cant go. But there is also dangers with the flood. When the shoal water start to warming up there is a disease called botulism. The waterbirds eat food from that warm water what contains Clostridium botulinum its a bacteria what produce exotoxin(its a neurotoxin) which is dangerous 4 mammals and birds. They produce this toxin when the water warms up 3 to 45 celsius degrees, but produce the most of these toxins upper 20 celsius degrees. If ur bird caught sumthing at these areas u must be there as soon as possible and dont allow the bird to eat from these waterflow birds becouse they also contains this exotoxin. When the bird eat from this toxin it work off at the digestive system than its run through the lymph system and trought the blood and reach the nervous system. After they are toxicated they become slow, have diarrhea and place their necks in a cramped position. Ur birdie can die in 2 days from this disease so be carefull peeps.
