Just wondered how people feed there birds through chutes without the bird knowing food is on the way, this is because no matter how quiet i am or what time of the day early morning etc i do it the bird always knows i am there as she instantly jumps to the feeding shelf below the chute. Either i am going to have to get ninja skills or put some earmuffs on her lol
And can someone move the thread put it in wrong section

I use a piece of 4 inch waste pipe about a foot long set at about 45 degrees pointin down to the floor/shelf with a proper sealed cap that fits on the top that way the bird never has to see you dropping food in but just knows the food comes down the pipe and onto the floor/shelf the other thing is take time to move about around the aviary without actually feeding the bird as they can become dependant on movement outside means feeding which then may lead to a vocal responce on hearing you coming just my oppinion hope this helps as it works for me

yea but if every time the bird heres him theres food throwed in then that will start the vocal side of aswell he has got to get the bird used to hearing him doesnt mean feeding every time or when the bird heres him comin it will start to call or smash itself about in excitement

I have always just thrown the food in or on occaision gone in and offered it on the fist, as I do through the hunting season.
Both HH and Saker are quiet.
