I was just thinking, With all this mews building is there any regulations regarding the waste from the avairy being hosed into the ground through the pea gravel.
Would you be classed as polluting the ground for those that have a hardcore base then pea gravel,
Or is BOP mutes acting like fertilizer like gulls.
Just in case you built a mews then moved house leaving the ground in what kind of condition

If bird flu gets here you probably will not to be able to do this.
Waste products may have to be either treated or disposed of safely, ie incinerate!
You could always torch the mews when it gets filthy and then build a fresh clean one!:supz:

I think the only major concern the authorities are likely to have about your bird's excretions is if you decided to start processing the feaces with a view to concentrating certain nitrate levels. Depending on how its produced, above about 5 - 7% concentration Amonium Nitrate becomes a rather unstable explosive.

I dont think Bin Laden is likely to have a flock of birds building his next super weapon, but its something that can happen naturally over time so worth thinking about next time you start swinging a hammer at an old mews you plan to rebuild.

Bet at least one person thinks this is an April fool post!!
