One man band forced insemination

Anyone managing to force inseminate on their own without any help and if so how??
(No-one around to help when the next egg is due!)

ive never done it but seen the guys at falcon mews do it on their own, tricky, not ideal, but possable?

if your not experienced i wouldnt try m8! all sorts of things could go wrong? ask as a falcon her bells or kentish falconry or falcon mews they can tell you a hell of a lot more than i could?

Yes I have done them on my own no problems, but only the old way by exposing the oviduct. I wrap up the falcon tight in a jacket or towel stick her between my legs get the oviduct exposed, keep the oviduct out with pressure
from the thumb of my left hand. Pick up the syringe with my right hand insert into ovduct release semen, release pressure from left thumb slowley remove syringe while manipulating oviduct back in. I have used the speculum which seems easier than exposing the oviduct but only done it that way with 2 of us.

Don't worry I have been doing them with help for three years but I am stuck for the next egg and thought if there's a way to do it on my own it would be better than getting someones help all the time.

Colin, just to confirm I do wrap the bird in a scarf, sit the bird across my legs (tail on the left) use my right hand for pressure and my left hand exposes the cloaca (same as in Backyard Falcon Breeder video) - so do you do that and if I keep the right hand pressure on and pick up the syringe with the left hand the cloaca stays exposed? I guess that's what you mean.

Yes thats about it . The only thing Thats a bit different is I wrap the falcon then took he between my legs head down, vent facing me Using my thighs as a extra pair of hands. I had some Spannish guys watch me do it they was quite impressed. I entered the pen with every thing prepared, it was all done and was over in a few minutes and back out. My own project is small and I am lucky they all stand. Goodluck

Thanks for the info Colin.
Its a parent reared Pere/Barbary that I inseminate because the pair won't copulate naturally. She doesn't seem to mind too much, when she lands on the perch after me releasing her she begins chupping to her mate straight away.
