Sean has very nicely offered me a set of hood blocks, but I wanted the opinion of some experienced hood makers to sound them out.
Here's the information I was given:
"they are made by sycamorebirds (used to be on forum) They are casted from cristacal alpha k plaster. the sizes are No 1 = 42m, No2 = 43mm, No3 =44mm, No4 = 46mm, No5 = 47mm, No6 = 48mm,No7 = 49mm, No8 = 53mm, No9 = 54mm ,No10 = 55mm." The fellow's real name is Malcolm Allison, for those of you (like me) dont remember him on the forum.
Can anyone tell me what quality these blocks are and what species and sex birds the hoods are supposed to fit? Sean told me they come with a basic pattern given out by Hawkmaster which can be resized.
I would love to learn how to make dutch hoods, just want some expert opinions on these blocks before I start.

I also want these blocks. But can not get in contact with the supplier unfortunately. SycamoreBirds does not seem to be here on the forum that often? I did send him a PM about the blocks some times but did not get response after i said I want those blocks.

Bernard, what type of blocks do you make and how do you make them?
Really I was just looking to try my hand at blocked hoods, but if I'm going to spend the money any number of blocks I would like them to be a good set.

I will put a picture on tomorrow you do not have to buy a set you can buy one, it is a block i developed myself they are made from a very strong obsorbent material which speeds up the time they need to be in the oven, they are very good blocks and a few of my freinds have used them and say it as speeded up the drying time by half.
hope this is of interest.
