i have read in a book that pipe lagging with fabric tape wraped around it is suitable could anyone give me there views on this plz

I would be wary of fabric tape as I always take the view that if a hawk can manage to destroy something it will, and the last thing you want is to go out to your mews and discover your hawk wrapped in fabric tape.
I use either of the following for bows, personally:
1) Astro turf over the top of pipe lagging
2) Medium knobbly mountain bike tyre section over the top of pipe lagging. The tyres are obviously easy to clean and give a nice uneaven surface. I prefer this to astroturf on bows as it snags the ring less.

cracking idea i think as my bow from crown has lost its grip and wondered what to do, and i think astro is a bit of a dirt trap.

Been using mountain bike tyres for about 7 years with a variety of hawks and no problems at all.

gr8 idea how wouls u attach the tyre would you tape it on ?

Cable ties and then a bit of gaffer tape on the ends so that the ring goes over easily.
