heres a thought,, if this new law comes in, regarding hybrids,

if you have a hybrid and your not allowed to breed from it , arnt you in fact stopping the bird from displaying its natural behavour ,ie procreating,, surely there must be a law against that as well in this new animal welfare bill

from reading other posts hattie it seems that if this new animal welfare bill comes in it will be against the law to breed hybrids , but what if you already have hybrids , are you just ment to let them live into old age and did without breeding ??

I've just had a scan of the proposed Animal Welfare Bill and nothing stood out - unless its something to do with the secondary legislation?? Will go and have another look.

Why would the breeding of a Hybrid be bad for a birds welfare??

Does this mean we can no longer breed a mongrel dog??

,one things for sure it'll stop breeders knockin out gyr sakers for the arabs for a start,if a bill like that went thru goes thru , must mean in the making of hybrid ,so therfore every mating thereafter would be making yet another type of hybrid, so my mate would have to seperate his male harris and his female red,( like brian said this surely has to be bordering cruelty ,if were sticking to the letter of the law) and i'd never be able to breed my hybrid with anything ,now with out some sort of registry how they going to enforce it.and how will they get the revenue to pay to enforce it , and all this feels like there leading the masses wich most proberbly means with this gorvernment that something else is the real agenda and this is a red herring just to draw your attention away from the real deal.

was our very own Neil Forbes not involved in a case of prosecution of cruelty due to not allowing a bird to mate. The bird had plucked out a lot of feathers and it was construed that it was due to sexual frustration. This was interpreted as cruelty. If this new bill enforces the exact opposite of this then surely some people who have been prosecuted in the past may have grounds for appeal against unsound conviction.
Just a thought.

Typical of our lawmakers I would say.- Not an ounce of common sense between them.
