Could anyone explain the benifits of whether the eggs should be upright or on their sides in the incubator?
There seems to be both types on the market.
Thanks to all.

Hi sky,
I realise that they have to be turned, its more a concern on the position you place them in.
Some you lay flat on their sides others have the eggs in a vertical position with the blunt end up.
Is one way beter than the other?

ye you need an incubator that rocks so the yoke inside wont stick to the sides.

obviously the mum wont put them verticle in the nest but she rotates them herself like an incubator would.

Ive had a look at a maselles incubator, the egg tray puts them on their ends,
Ive seen a lot of pheasant incubators with the eggs on end. probably just to save space inside, but these are expensive incubators at about 1000 pounds. but ive always used normal egg positions in the past, just wondering if it was damaging to embrios when in this position.
