Hi i am new to the forum been flying falcons over 30 yrs, i have plans this year to social imprint a falcon and tiercel, they will be tame hacked ,moulted etc together with long term plans of natural breeding ,and a.i. they are both perigrines has anyone had experience of this and how did they turn out ? did they breed naturally,as well as performing for a.i. donating, standing for copulation, i have social imprinted falcons before but not 2 together, also is the noise level a consideration , as 2 birds would i think be worse than one reared by himself, mark.

opens the options up ,hopefully birds will breed naturaly , and you can inseminate, and obtain seman , therfore you can breed other falcons indirectly from 1 pair. mark.

Both Marks, I am sure you may get more responses if you completed your public profiles as people know who they are dealing with then?
Cheers Paul

Interesting but I wouldn't have thought it would be a good idea to disturb a bonded pair whilst they are breeding, to get a semen donation or inseminate the female?
Never heard of anyone else doing it, would be interesting to know.

Hi hawka, the logic off it is , if the pair arnt copulating you could inseminate, as well , i no of a pair of peregrines where this was the case , both imprinted , but the tiercel, wouldnt copulate so the falcon, could be inseminated, with semen from her mate or from another tiercel,or you can inseminate to obtain hybrids, dont forget the usa breeders regulary rear 2 falcons, tiercel and falcon together its called cahort, rearing and they appear to breed a lot earlier than parent reared, as regards to disturbence , you have to go into imprints anyway hope this makes sense, mark.

This is not Dual imprinting!
It is creche rearing and crech/Social imprinting if done very well with total dedication.
