We have all heard about the brown females taking AI in their first year.
What about brown males donating does it happen as commonly?

A donation is possible but any level of semen viability is unheard of I think.

Just spoke to Kevin Pekin.
His male comes from an imported Jeremy Edwards female and a Mark Richards male. He flies at about 2lbs.
This bird was giving semen while a brown bird in his first year, about an 1/8 to a 1/4 of an Eppendorf tube for 1 month. All semen under the scope was superb and 100% viable.

Yes but he did produce and sell 4 youngsters of which one was sold back to the guy he got the male from orginally. The guy confirmed it was a brown bird too.

  Why whould anyone even consider breeding from an immature bird ?
At this stage of the game any REAL Austringer/ Falconer would be weighing up the hawk"s potential for hunting next season, not counting the pound signs ! Some people have no shame !

That is a bit harsh.
Nothing wrong in the search for knowledge and testing the frontiers. There is no evidence that the guy is only interested in the money.

I love it when people spout off and know nothing about what they are talking about! Or maybe they do, but have just not worded it correctly and then they come out with something that sounds this stupid :supz: Well Done!

I have tried to breed from my brown bird this season! http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b348/Accipitrine/Sexe27.gif
With a good Diet there is no reason why a brownie cant be bred from and flown during the next season,
My Goshawk is no brood bitch!
The young were going to be distributed among fellow austringers for free!
What a totaly dogmatic and uninformed statment you have made http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b348/Accipitrine/Sexe27.gif
