How many of you guys out there feed your birds venison the reason i ask is that i fed my 2 harris hawks 7 ounces between them 3 for my male and 4 for the female in the morning and when i went to feed the following evening they were reluctant to eat Docs is this because.

A-Venison is more richer and slower to digest.
B-Is the ptotein content high

Any advise cause i have a freezer full of the stuff

Three & Four ounces of venison is quite a lot for a male & female Harris. You will probably find that feeding that amount will put on a lot more weight than feeding the same amount (in weight) of D.O.C's.
Any advice cos you've got a freezer load of the stuff? Most certainly.... give me your address and I will come & collect it from you! I love the stuff, balls to the dogs & birds, I just can't get enough of it!

Lucky.

We feed our falcons on it now and then, brilliant food for them. If you want to get ridd of it, let me know, its really good expecially in the breeding season!! ;)

Thanks for the quick replies chaps , TLLL forgot to mention mate my male Harris weighs 2 lb 1 oz and my female nearly 2 lb 12 ozs with my males hunting weight at 1lb 10-11 oz while the big lass at near 2lb 6 ounces so not really alot when you think about it but m8 no probs if you need any cause my mate controls them on a nearbye shoot, just thought it was strange as the fhh usally wolfs down 5-6 DOCS, not yet tried it on my gos yet.
Thanks again

I feed venison lower leg so i cut what i dont want to feed the bird off the bone and throw it the bone with the meat on. Exellant for keeping his beak short.

I regularly feed the eagles venison. The will spend a couple of days stripping the head clean. It is great for keeping their beaks in good condition.
They would eat a lot of it in the wild in anycase.
